PARIS – Olympic veterans and team captains Ryan Murphy and Abbey Weitzeil helped the United States win the gold medal in the 4×100 mixed medley relay at the 2024 Summer Games at Paris La Defense Arena.

Murphy won his fifth career Olympic gold medal and eighth overall, reeling off a blistering split of 52.08 while leading off with the backstroke leg. His performance helped Team USA set a world record in the event with a mark of 3:37.43. Murphy previously won the bronze medal in the 100-meter backstroke earlier in Paris.
