VANCOUVER, CANADA – TheNewswire – April 9, 2024: Sitka Gold Corp. (“Sitka” or the “Company”) (TSX-V:SIG) (FSE:1RF) (OTCQB:SITKF) is excited to report the interception of visible gold within sheeted veining in megacrystic quartz monzonite intrusive rock in the second 2024 winter diamond drill hole at its RC Gold Project in the prolific Tombstone Gold Belt of Yukon.
Exploring the RC Gold Project
The winter drilling program aims to expand from the previous successful drill holes, particularly Hole 47, which contained significant gold mineralization. By confirming and extending the mineralized quartz monzonite intrusion in Hole 58, Sitka Gold is demonstrating the ongoing presence of robust gold mineralization in the area. The company is optimistic about the potential for expanding higher-grade gold mineralization to the south and southeast of the current Blackjack deposit, emphasizing the area’s open nature in all directions.
Sitka Gold’s early start on the 15,000-meter diamond drilling program aligns with its strategic advantage of proximity to existing infrastructure, supporting future development within the region. The presence of the Blackjack gold deposit showcases the geological potential of the district-scale land package, highlighting over 1.3 million ounces of gold identified and nine intrusions associated with gold mineralization.
Insights from Drilling
Hole 58 has validated the presence of well mineralized quartz monzonite intrusions, providing further depth to the geological composition. The identification of visible gold, along with other key markers like bismuthinite commonly linked to gold mineralization, underscores the potential for significant resource growth in the RC Gold Project.
Future Exploration and Expansion
The upcoming drilling phase will focus on expanding and defining targets within the Clear Creek Intrusive Complex area, home to the Blackjack and Eiger gold deposits that are open for future exploration. The Saddle zone, situated midway between the two deposits, shows promise for additional resource development. With drill-ready targets across the property and a fully funded 2024 drilling program, Sitka Gold is positioned to capitalize on the strengthening gold market.
About the flagship RC Gold Project
The RC Gold Project spans 386 square kilometers in Yukon’s Tombstone Gold Belt, strategically located between Victoria Gold’s Eagle Gold Mine and former Brewery Creek Gold Mine. The project boasts an inferred mineral resource estimate of 1,340,000 ounces of gold, highlighting the open-pit-constrained mineralization at the Blackjack and Eiger deposits.
Exploration Potential in Tombstone Gold Belt
The RC Gold Project’s exploration is central to identifying an Intrusional-related Gold System, aligning with the broader Tombstone Gold Belt hosting similar gold deposits in Alaska and Yukon. Notable deposits like the Fort Knox Mine, Eagle Gold Mine, and Brewery Creek deposit underscore the potential for IRGS discovery in the region.
With a focus on gold, silver, and copper mineral properties, Sitka Gold is committed to economically viable mineral exploration. The company’s active projects in Nevada, Arizona, Yukon, and Nunavut indicate a diverse portfolio with growth potential in various resource sectors.
