BOSTON — Authorities announced the arrest of a suspect in Pennsylvania by the US Marshals, in connection with a series of gold chain robberies across multiple Boston neighborhoods on Tuesday.
22-year-old Edwin Santo faces charges of two counts of armed robbery with a firearm, as well as assault and battery with a firearm. A warrant for his arrest was issued from Roxbury District Court.
The Boston Police revealed that Santo targeted multiple victims over the age of 60, stealing their gold chains in Roxbury, Mattapan, and Hyde Park during the summer months. Following a trail of investigation, Boston authorities tracked Santo to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was apprehended by the US Marshals.
Santo is scheduled for arraignment in Roxbury District Court.
