Vancouver, British Columbia–(Newsfile Corp. – May 2, 2024) – Sun Summit Minerals Corp. (TSXV: SMN) (OTCQB: SMREF) is excited to announce the identification of additional targets within the Finn to Creek corridor on the JD Project, situated in the Toodoggone gold-copper mining district in north-central British Columbia.
Exploration Targets:
Comprehensive Data Review: A thorough review of historical geochemical data across the property has unveiled multiple new target areas for further exploration, including drilling to assess their viability.
High-Grade Mineralization: Notable assay highlights from historical rock samples in various zones along the Finn to Creek corridor include significant gold-silver concentrations, such as 326 g/t Au with 1,535 g/t Ag in the Schmitt Zone and 79.2 g/t Au with 30.5 g/t Ag in the Wolf Zone.
Gold Anomalies: Broad zones of gold-in-soil anomalism have been discovered, with numerous samples exceeding 1.0 g/t Au, suggesting untapped potential for future exploration and drilling programs.
Upcoming 2024 Program: The 2024 exploration program is currently in the finalization stage and will involve geological surveys, geochemical sampling, geophysical studies, and extensive drilling across multiple prospective targets.
* Please note that assay results are from historical data sources and may not represent all mineralization at the project.
“The focus of our data compilation is to develop high-potential drilling targets,” stated Sharyn Alexander, the President of Sun Summit. “The correlation between surface geochemistry and high-grade mineralization in rock samples gives us confidence in the priority of these untested anomalies, especially along the Finn to Creek corridor. The presence of gold-in-soil anomalies over 1.0 g/t further reinforces the prospects of these targets. Details on the upcoming field program will be disclosed as we finalize our data compilation efforts.”
JD Project Overview
The JD Project encompasses a vast area of mineral claims in the Toodoggone gold-copper mining district, known for its rich gold-silver and porphyry-related copper-gold systems. Located near existing infrastructure supporting the Kemess Cu-Au mining camp, the JD Project is poised for further exploration and discovery.
Target Generation
Recent analysis of surface geochemistry, along with historical data from the Finn and Creek zones, has led to the identification of priority targets, including Finn, Schmitt, Wolf, MVT, JD West, Buff, and Creek. These targets have shown promising signs of gold mineralization and warrant detailed exploration and potential drilling to delineate their resource potential.
By delving into the historical data and geochemical surveys, Sun Summit aims to unlock the untapped mineral potential in the JD Project, offering new opportunities for discovery and resource expansion.
