Exploring Deeper into the RC Gold Project
Sitka Gold Corp. announced another notable intercept from the 2024 exploration season at its RC Gold project in the Yukon, showcasing visible gold (VG) from surface to 680 meters in the deepest hole ever drilled. This latest discovery adds to the continuous high-grade mineralization uncovered during this year’s exploration program.
Expanding Beyond Previous Limits
In August, Sitka reported its best intercept to date, with visible gold seen between 76 and 526 meters in a 290.5-meter interval averaging 1.1 grams per metric ton gold. The recent hole’s VG presence over a span of more than 600 meters suggests that Sitka’s exploration efforts are pushing beyond previous boundaries.
CEO Cor Coe noted that the drilling continues to reveal robust mineralization at the Blackjack Zone, expanding the gold system to the south and to depth. The exploration is proving successful in tracking the gold mineralization continuity at Blackjack, with impressive visuals from Hole 68, the deepest hole drilled to test the continuity of mineralization at depth.
Deepest and Most Visually Gold-Rich Hole
Hole DDRCCC-24-068, drilled to a depth of 708.7 meters, returned over 40 instances of visible gold from the surface to 680 meters, marking it as the deepest and most visually gold-rich hole drilled at RC Gold to date. This extended mineralized zone suggests further potential below, with mineralization still open at depth.
Geological Modeling and Potential Expansion
Sitka’s geological modeling aligns with the continuous success at the Blackjack Zone, indicating a conduit for gold mineralization within the Clear Creek Intrusive Complex. The company has completed a significant portion of its 15,000-meter drill campaign, with promising intercepts showcasing the growing potential of the Blackjack Zone.
The Future of Exploration
As drilling continues and more assays are awaited, Sitka remains optimistic about further defining the extent of mineralization at RC Gold. CEO Coe suggests that the presence of visible gold at depth in Hole 68 indicates the closeness to the source of this mineralized system that remains open in all directions.
Exploring Structural Corridors
Drills are currently testing the projection of higher-grade gold mineralization along the newly identified Blackjack Mineralized Corridor. This corridor spans over 10 kilometers and suggests the presence of a large, connected system across the Clear Creek Intrusive Complex. The aim is to uncover the full potential of the RC Gold project through continued exploration.
Overall, Sitka Gold’s ongoing exploration efforts at RC Gold are proving fruitful, with visible gold occurrences in multiple holes showcasing the project’s promising mineralization potential. As the company awaits assay results and continues drilling, the momentum in expanding the Blackjack deposit and unlocking the full extent of the RC Gold project remains strong.
