Surrey man faces child pornography charges
A man has been charged in Surrey with child pornography offences, RCMP said Tuesday.
On July 5, Surrey RCMP informed the public that 41-year-old Christopher Paterson had been arrested and charged with multiple offences for failing to comply with a probation order and failing to comply with a prohibition order.
Paterson has been in custody since his arrest on June 19. Last week, he was charged with additional offences, including sexual interference, luring a child, and possession of child porn.
Coquitlam RCMP warn of fake gold scam
Mounties in Coquitlam are urging people to be aware of fake gold and jewelry scams. Recently, Coquitlam RCMP have seen an increase in fraud reports related to fake gold sales. Criminals approach victims in parking lots and attempt to sell them fake gold jewelry, taking advantage of their goodwill.
Drugs seized from impaired driver wanted on Canada-wide warrant near Victoria: RCMP
West Shore RCMP in Langford, near Victoria, have seized a significant amount of drugs from an impaired driver. The suspect was found unconscious in his vehicle, with drug paraphernalia, and was arrested for drug-impaired driving. Additionally, it was discovered that the individual was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large.
Police make drugs and weapons bust in downtown Nanaimo
In Nanaimo, police have made arrests in connection with a drug and weapons bust. Following investigations into possible drug trafficking activities, two individuals were arrested, and a loaded pistol, cash, and various drugs, including meth, cocaine, fentanyl, and opioids, were seized. Further search at a motel room linked to the case led to the discovery of more drugs, weapons, and a significant amount of cash.
Suspect arrested after replica guns seized at Vancouver airport
The Canada Border Services Agency reported a series of seizures of illegal replica firearms at the Vancouver International Airport over six months. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of a suspect, and law enforcement officials obtained search warrants for the individual’s residence in Vancouver. The search yielded two firearms, completed 3D printed firearms, replica firearms, and suspected drugs, with charges pending against the suspect.
