Patronus Resources (ASX:PTN) starts drilling at Glencoe gold deposit in Northern Territory
Patronus Resources, formerly known as Kin Mining, has launched its inaugural drilling program in Australia’s Northern Territory. The company has initiated 2,000 meters of reverse circulation drilling at the Glencoe gold deposit within its Fountain Head gold project. This move comes after the recent merger with PNX Metals, which consolidated the companies and their assets under the new name.
Project Details
The Fountain Head gold project is situated on granted mineral leases between the towns of Pine Creek and Adelaide River in Northern Territory. With a mineral resource estimate standing at 234,000 ounces of gold, the project encompasses three deposits—Fountain Head, Glencoe, and Tally Ho. Notably, the Glencoe deposit alone holds 79,000 ounces of gold and is open along strike and at depth.
Exploration Strategy
Patronus is targeting five high-grade domains beyond the existing mineral resource estimate by PNX. This includes focusing on areas with high-grade gold in quartz veins oblique to the main anticline-related lodes. The company plans to conduct diamond drilling at the Fountain Head deposit once it secures the necessary government approvals.
CEO’s Perspective
John Ingram, CEO of Patronus, expressed enthusiasm for the commencement of exploration activities in the Northern Territory. He highlighted the expansion of existing gold resources at the Fountain Head Gold Project and the exploration of high-priority regional gold targets as key objectives for the company. An updated mineral resource estimate for Fountain Head is scheduled for 2025.
Future Ventures
Aside from its gold and uranium projects in the Northern Territory, Patronus also holds the Leonora gold project and Hayes Creek base metals project in Western Australia. The company looks forward to progressing its uranium exploration in the Pine Creek district and anticipates commencing drilling on its Thunderball uranium project soon, subject to regulatory approvals.
