Northern Michigan University has teamed up with Blackrocks Brewery in Marquette to introduce Wildcat Gold, a new beer crafted by alumni, for alumni, to commemorate NMU’s 125th anniversary.
Debut and Availability
The gold lager will be unveiled today from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Eastern time at the Alumni Fridays event at the Blackrocks Brewery Pub. It will also be served at the Homecoming football game tailgate party on September 21 and at Wildcat hockey games throughout the season.

Andy Langlois, a 1995 alumnus and co-owner of Blackrocks Brewery, expressed his gratitude for partnering with NMU on this special project.

A portion of the proceeds from Wildcat Gold sales will aid student recreation and health programs at NMU. This includes enhancing equipment support at the NMU Outdoor Recreation Center, where students have access to various recreational gear for free.
