Lode Gold Resources Inc. (TSXV: LOD) (OTCQB: SBMIF) (“Lode Gold” or the “Company”) recently announced the interpretation of data from a QMAGT survey conducted in the summer of 2024. The Company highlighted the identification of a new high-priority target named “Steelhead” on its WIN property, which extends the existing Reduced Intrusion Related Gold System (RIRGS) targets. In addition to the initial findings, the Company plans to expand on the new discoveries to include its flagship Golden Culvert property as they investigate potential genetic relationships between the RIRGS mineralization at WIN and the orogenic styles of mineralization at Golden Culvert.
Identifying New Prospects
The recent QMAGT system geophysical results, integrated with geology and historic geochemical information, identified a new 4km2 high-priority prospect named “Steelhead” on the eastern part of the property. This area of hornfels showed anomalous gold and bismuth results in stream sediment samples, indicating strong prospectivity.
Mapping Intrusions and Mineralization
The QMAGT system effectively enhanced the detailed geology of the property and identified targeted Tombstone-Tungsten Cretaceous aged monzonite intrusions as magnetic lows, with related hornfels known to be prospective for RIRGS as magnetic highs. This aligns with the 2023 discovery of a RIRGS style sheeted vein system on the property and the Border Gold Zone controlled by the Border Monzonite.
Regional Setting and RIRGS Model
The WIN property is located in the Tombstone gold belt, known for its RIRGS deposits and prospects. The RIRGS geological model indicates that mineralization is associated with reduced intrusions, extending beyond the limits of the intrusion. The WIN property contains known mapped intrusives, contributing to the understanding of the region’s mineralization styles.
Future Plans and Exploration Targets
Based on the QMAGT data and existing geochemical information, Lode Gold has outlined exploration plans for the 2025 field season. Priority targets include the Border Gold zone, the Hyland Monzonite, and the Steelhead Prospect. The Company aims to further investigate these areas to generate high-potential drilling targets.
Overall, the use of advanced geophysical techniques like QMAGT, combined with traditional exploration methods, enhances the understanding of the geological structures and mineralization potential of the WIN property. By integrating multiple data sources, Lode Gold is strategically positioned to uncover new opportunities for resource development in the Yukon region and beyond.
