VANCOUVER, BC, Sept. 8, 2024 /CNW/ – Getchell Gold Corp. (CSE: GTCH) (OTCQB: GGLDF) (FWB: GGA1) (“Getchell” or the “Company“) is pleased to announce the staking of 16 unpatented mining claims at its Dixie Comstock project bringing the total number of claims to 44, covering 725 acres (293.5 hectares).
The Dixie Comstock Mine (“Dixie Comstock” or the “Project”) is a past small-scale producer of gold, located in Churchill County, Nevada, in a low-sulfidation, epithermal gold system. The mine presents an opportunity for further exploration and development due to its history and mineralization characteristics.
The history of gold discovery at Dixie Comstock, spanning back to 1935, details periods of development and halts, contributing to a cumulative production. Despite sporadic activities, the mine showcases substantial potential with mineralization open to further exploration.
Technical reports and estimates have been conducted, illustrating resource potential and modeling for open-pit mining. Despite historical estimates, the site’s geology and mineralization point to substantial resources awaiting validation and development.
Recent developments, including the release of environmental constraints, have created a favorable environment for future mining activities at Dixie Comstock. The removal of previous barriers paves the way for renewed exploration and operational initiatives.
Scott Frostad, P.Geo., is the Qualified Person overseeing technical information at Getchell Gold Corp.
