Brixton Metals Corp. Makes High-Grade Gold Discovery at Trapper Target
Located in Northern British Columbia, Brixton Metals Corp.’s Thorn project saw the discovery of high-grade gold at the Trapper target through recent drilling activities. The project covers an expansive area of 2,945 square kilometers and hosts 16 large-scale copper- and gold-enriched prospects.
Exploration Focus at Thorn
While the primary focus of the 2024 drilling program at Thorn has been on porphyry copper-gold mineralization at Camp Creek and similar targets across the property, a significant portion of the program was dedicated to expanding the epithermal gold mineralization at Trapper. Trapper, situated approximately 10 kilometers south of Camp Creek, has been a key area of exploration since 2021, yielding notable results in previous drilling programs.
Key Highlights
Some of the highlights from previous drilling programs at Trapper include impressive intercepts such as 139 meters averaging 2.14 grams per metric ton and 304.5 meters averaging 1.19 g/t gold. These results indicate the presence of significant gold mineralization at the Trapper target.
Recent Assay Results
The latest round of drilling at Trapper produced promising results, with notable intercepts reported from holes THN24-300, THN24-303, and THN24-304. Of particular interest is hole THN24-304, which cut two meters of bonanza-grade gold within a broader zone of mineralization. This discovery opens up new opportunities for further exploration and expansion of the Trapper Gold Target.
Insight on Future Prospects
Christina Anstey, Vice President of Exploration at Brixton Metals, expressed enthusiasm about the high-grade gold intercepts and the potential for expanding the footprint at the Trapper target. The correlation between drilling results, magnetic responses, and surface geochemical anomalies presents numerous opportunities for future drill targets and exploration activities.
Looking Ahead
The successful drilling results at the Trapper target underscore the potential of Brixton Metals’ Thorn project to host significant gold mineralization. As the company continues its exploration efforts and delves deeper into the geological complexities of the area, further discoveries and advancements in understanding the mineralization at Trapper are expected.
