A pot of pure gold hidden in the woods of New England has been discovered, with the winner of the treasure hunt revealing the exciting news in Massachusetts.
Dan Leonard, the victor of Project SkyDrop’s search for a 24-karat gold statue, shared on Wednesday via YouTube that he plans to give back a portion of his winnings to the community.
Leonard mentioned, “It won’t be the whole kit and caboodle, but it will be a pretty good-sized chunk. Let’s figure out how to find this rainbow, get to the end of it, and get that pot of gold.”
Project SkyDrop’s website stated that the pot of gold is worth $87,600, a sum Leonard declined after locating the statue, as reported by New Hampshire’s Jason Rohrer and Tom Bailey from California, the creators of the treasure hunt.
Currently, a “members only” bounty location puzzle is available on Project SkyDrop’s website.
Funds for the bounty were generated through entry fees for the competition.
Participants in the game received daily emails with aerial images of the statue on a forest floor where Rohrer and Bailey had concealed the golden statue, accompanied by progressively revealing clues about its hiding spot.
In a recent post on Projectskydrop.com, Rohrer and Bailey announced, “THE TREASURE HAS BEEN FOUND.”
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for more updates as additional information is revealed.
