Great Pacific Gold Corp. is pleased to announce updates on its Kesar Project located in Papua New Guinea. The Company has initiated a 5,000 meter drill program at the Anteruno target, a key focus area within the Kesar project.
Highlights of the Update
- Anteruno is the primary target within a 5km x 5km area of the Kesar concession, situated near K92 Mining’s Kainantu mine concessions.
- Thirteen drill holes are planned to test the Anteruno target, which encompasses a vein-set/stockwork zone of approximately 1,000m x 200m.
- The first drill holes, KDH-01 and KDH-03, are underway to test specific vein stockwork sets identified with geochemistry and mapping.
- A comprehensive surface mapping exercise is ongoing to define additional drill targets for future campaigns.
Greg McCunn, CEO of Great Pacific Gold, expressed optimism about the progress, highlighting the efficient deployment of drill rigs and operational setups at Kesar. The Company aims to advance multiple targets at Kesar besides Anteruno through continued fieldwork.
The initial drilling phase at Anteruno involves two diamond drill rigs working 24 hours a day to explore the high-priority target.
Chris Muller, Director of Great Pacific Gold, highlighted the Company’s focus on exploration in PNG, with the Kesar project showing great promise. Sampling work at Kesar has identified compelling drill targets based on soil, rock, and artisanal workings data.
Insights into the Kesar Project
The Kesar Project, adjacent to K92 Mining’s operations in Papua New Guinea, exhibits several high-priority targets. The project’s veins show similarities to key K92 deposits and demonstrate high gold grades in both rock and soil samples. The planned drilling aims to capitalize on these promising features to uncover potential mineralized zones.
The comprehensive soil and rock sampling campaigns have yielded encouraging results, with notable gold grades detected. Moreover, the structural data from the mapping exercise at the Anteruno prospect indicates the presence of significant gold-bearing structures, setting the stage for extensive exploration.
The ongoing drill program is strategically designed to intersect multiple vein sets, suggesting the likelihood of discovering mineralized zones. With a meticulous approach to drilling and assay procedures, Great Pacific Gold aims to uncover the full potential of the Kesar Project.
