Laval police seek public’s help to catch jewelry-store thief
Laval police have reached out to the public for assistance in locating a suspect linked to a theft at a jewelry store in August.
Suspect at large
The theft took place on August 12 in the Chomedey district of the city. The suspect entered the store under the pretense of wanting to see a gold chain. However, once the clerk brought out a display panel of gold chains, the suspect took advantage of the opportunity and snatched the panel before making a run for it on foot. The stolen panel contained 20 gold chains, each valued between $800 to $1,000.
Suspect description
The suspect is described as a white male who is fluent in French, approximately 5 feet 11 inches in height, weighing around 200 pounds. He has short-cropped hair and is balding partially. During the theft, he was wearing a blue checked, long-sleeved shirt, jeans, and black and white running shoes.
