The Whistler Project consists of four distinct mineral deposits: Whistler, Raintree West Pit, Raintree West Underground, and Island Mountain. Its current combined mineral resource estimate includes 2.99 million gold equivalent (“AuEq”) ounces in the indicated category and 6.45 million AuEq ounces in the inferred category.
Exploration Drilling Program
The confirmatory infill drilling has begun at the Raintree West deposit to advance the geological model and explore the deposit beyond its known extents. Additionally, drilling is planned for the Whistler deposit to delineate and extend high-grade mineralization areas, following the successful 2023 drilling program.
- Surface exploration activities will also test drill targets within the broader Whistler Orbit, presenting an opportunity to discover additional mineralized centers.
Tim Smith, the CEO, highlighted the financial flexibility of the Company to launch the drilling program and commended the field teams for starting drilling ahead of schedule. This proactive approach will maximize drilling production during the summer and potentially extend exploration activities into the fall.
2024 Drilling Program Overview
On May 22, 2024, the Company mobilized field teams to the Project to initiate diamond core drilling at Raintree West deposit the week before schedule, granting the team extended field time compared to the previous season.
The primary objective of the initial drill holes at Raintree West is to enhance the geological model and potentially expand the existing mineral resource.
