OROVILLE, Calif. – Gold Country Casino in Oroville is expanding. The casino now has a platinum level with more slot machines for you to enjoy.
Frank Oppenheim, the general manager of the casino, told Action News Now that the platinum level expansion adds 25,000 square feet and 300 slot machines. It has an upscale casino bar, a new table games section, a new high limit section, and specialized gaming areas.
“When we talk about specialized gaming areas, we have worked directly with some of our vendors, and they have come in and created areas like the one we are in right now; this is the aristocrat lounge that features one of the most popular games, the Dragon Link games,” Oppenheim said.
One of the notable additions from this expansion is the new Wahlburgers restaurant.
Oppenheim said they decided they needed to expand because they’re nearly always at capacity and they don’t always have enough slot machines to meet guests’ demands. He said the casino doesn’t just attract locals; people come from all over Northern California to play or check out live entertainment.
We asked Oppenheim to give some reasons why people should come to this casino versus other ones.
“Better play, better service, better amenities—as I mentioned, Wahlburgers is our seventh restaurant that we offer here,” Oppenheim said.
Oppenheim tells Action News Now that Gold Country Casino Resort in Oroville celebrated 28 years serving the community this past month.
The platinum level ribbon cutting is October 5, and Wahlburgers has its grand opening on October 16.
