Conroy Gold & Natural Resources PLC, an Ireland and Finland-focused gold exploration and development company, has announced the appointment of Company Secretary Cathal Jones to the board as finance director, effective immediately. Jones has been working in a consultancy role with the company for several years, assisting with financial statement preparation and other corporate finance matters, including joint venture negotiations.
In addition to his new role at Conroy, Jones has served as finance director of Ardilaun Energy Ltd since 2014. Ardilaun Energy Ltd acquired Irish oil and gas assets from San Leon Energy PLC in the same year. Jones also remains a founding director of Dunraven Resources PLC, a North Africa-focused oil and gas explorer and developer.

Jones brings a wealth of experience in corporate finance and joint venture negotiations to his new role as finance director at Conroy Gold & Natural Resources PLC. His background in both the energy and natural resources sectors will be instrumental in driving the company’s growth and development strategies.
Conroy Gold has also appointed Marian Moroney as a non-executive director, effective immediately. Moroney previously held senior roles at Barrick Gold Corp for over 21 years, including serving as vice president exploration, Asia Pacific from July 2022 to February 2023.

Conroy Gold’s current stock price is 9.86 pence, up 1.1% in London on Monday. Over the past 12 months, the stock has experienced a 42% decline.
