Solstice Gold Acquires Strathy Gold Project in Ontario
Solstice Gold has announced the acquisition of the Strathy Gold Project (SGP) in Ontario, Canada. The company reached an option agreement with 1544230 Ontario and Gravel Ridge Resources to purchase a 100% interest in the SGP.
Details of the Agreement
As per the agreement, Solstice is required to pay $20,000 (C$27,356) within ten days post the effective date and issue 750,000 common shares following approval from the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV). To fully exercise the option, additional cash payments totaling $85,000 are to be made across three anniversaries of the agreement.
Upon exercising the option, the Optionors will retain a 1% net smelter return (NSR) royalty on six claims, with a buyout option for half of the NSR at $600,000. There is also a separate 1% NSR on the Youngs claims held by a third party, with similar buyout options of $500,000 and $800,000 for each half respectively.
Overview of the Strathy Gold Project
The SGP comprises 45 claims in a region known for its gold prospectivity, underlain by the Archean-age Temagami Greenstone Belt, which is the southernmost extension of the Abitibi Subprovince in Ontario. The project area includes parts of the Net-Vermilion and Link Lake Deformation Zones, both of which have yielded significant gold values in surface sampling and drilling.
Additional Insight: The acquisition of the Strathy Gold Project places Solstice Gold in a strategically advantageous position in a region with a history of high-grade gold discoveries. By securing a dominant land position with significant exploration potential, Solstice aims to tap into the lucrative Abitibi gold systems, potentially uncovering a larger mineralizing system with extensive high-grade gold mineralization over a wide area.
CEO’s Comments and Future Plans
Solstice CEO Pablo McDonald expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating that the technical team’s efforts led to obtaining a highly prospective land package in the Abitibi Subprovince. McDonald highlighted the company’s exploration strategy of systematic exploration over the Strathy claims, marking the first comprehensive exploration efforts in the area’s history.
