Rise in Burglaries Targeting Asian Gold in Bradford
There has been a rise in burglaries in Bradford targeting Asian gold, according to police. In the last four months, there have been 28 burglaries where Asian gold has been stolen across the city. This is a significant increase compared to the eight offenses recorded between January and May by West Yorkshire Police, with no specific pattern regarding Asian gold burglaries.
Two boys, aged 15 and 16, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and have been bailed pending further inquiries.

Detective Inspector Dennise Bell mentioned that the suspects had been riding around Bradford on e-bikes while targeting properties. She urged anyone who has seen anything suspicious to come forward with information and provide doorbell footage that may have captured the bikes riding past their property.
She also emphasized the importance of having up-to-date anti-snap locks on all doors, ensuring that windows and doors are secured, and valuables are locked away in a safe place. The investigation into the residential burglaries is ongoing.
