Jordan Brand is set to release a special edition of the Air Jordan 1 High in honor of the Paris Olympics. The Air Jordan 1 High “Gold Medal” features a sleek black and gold color scheme and is scheduled to drop in August. This unique iteration of the iconic silhouette replaces the classic “Bred” colorway with metallic gold leather on the toe cap, Swoosh, heel, and strap. The rest of the upper is crafted from black leather, sitting atop a white midsole and gold outsole. To add to the exclusivity, a gold Jumpman keychain will be included, and the packaging will feature a special gold-on-gold design.
In addition to the Air Jordan 1 High “Gold Medal,” Jordan Brand has curated a diverse selection of sneakers for the Summer Olympics. Among these offerings is a white suede Air Jordan 6 with gold accents, alongside the return of the Air Jordan 6 “Olympics” boasting the Team USA colors from 2000. Notably, the grey suede Air Jordan 4 “Paris Olympics,” set to release this week, has drawn comparisons to the coveted Kaws collaboration from 2017, fetching high prices on the resale market.
The Latest Air Jordan Releases
Earlier this year, another Air Jordan 1 High featuring gold accents was released, known as the “Metallic Gold” edition, which brought back the original white and gold colorway. Most recently, the Air Jordan series introduced the Air Jordan 39, a sleek basketball sneaker featuring ZoomX foam and Air Zoom cushioning at full length, offering a minimalist aesthetic different from previous releases.
Set to release on August 10 via the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers, the Air Jordan 1 High “Gold Medal” will be available in full family sizing, with the men’s pair retailing at $180.
